Of Cats and Fish....
Ok, to continue the current theme of researching pets, not doing any uni, and spending big, I have decided to get a kitten.
I researched widely last week, (following the fish researching of the week before), and have put a deposit on a little kitty, whom I plan to pick up on Friday arvo. Two more sleeps and I shall be a mummy, and the sole provider and 'parent' to a dependent pet, whom will be mine for the entirety of her life, and make travel plans a little more ....needful of planning.
Mmmm. A little bit scary, it will turn my life upside down, but I will love her always nonetheless.
I decided a few weeks ago that perhaps I should get one, then I decided "Nah", then last week I decided I would. Can't really remember why I changed my mind....
Thoughts were something like: "I am 2ahem6, in the prime of my adult life, have full time work, live alone (except for arthur and lancie and soon to be fish-all cold blooded), I have had cats all my life, And I don't have one now. Why don't I have a cat? I should have a cat"
Plus a couple of friends have been like "Why don't you have a cat?" and "I don't know why you don't have one" and to my question of "Should I get a cat?":- "Yes."
Plus also getting a new puddie I think wil help with the loss of my favourite best friend kitty years ago, whom I still haven't quite got over.
I am getting a bit confused between the fish/cat thing though, with all the planning, so I'll have to be careful the kitty doesn't end up in the fish tank, and the fish in the litter tray.
Currently I have: A fish tank, stand, heater, got good filter from the pet expo, gravel, Ph test kits, light, food.....but no fish.
And:
Litter tray, toys, food bowl, kitty litter, food, cat cage (for transport), am in the market for a scratching post.....but no kitty.
And:
not much money.
All to change this friday/weekend (except the money part-that's only going to get worse), when I pick up kitty and hopefully get some fish cos the fish guy said I could put some fish in this weekend (tank has been cycling for a week).
And I will have a little menagerie.
And another week will go by with very little study.
On the Plus side, I am feeling little less stressed, No more bad dreams, less focussed on the life path/career/study worries. It is good to have a hobby, yes?
